Michele’s second son was born in 1969. Ever since he was young, he has followed in his father’s footsteps and became passionate about vineyards and the world of wine. 

He graduated from the Scuola Enologica of Alba in 1990.   

Since 1993, he has been responsible for the vineyards where he began to make several experiments and has been the chief enologist for the production of Gavi. From 1997, he has overseen the production of all Michele Chiarlo wines together with Gianni Meleni. He has advocated for the innovative choices that characterize Michele Chiarlo: thinning operations, which have greatly improved wine quality, the use of green manure as an organic fertilizer, the introduction of anti-hail nets in 2015, the conversion that began in 2013 as well as the attainment of the certificate of Sustainability. He has been the President of the Strada del Vino Astesana since 2013 and the Vice President of the Consorzio Barbera d’Asti since 2014. 

Since 2021, he has been the President of the Associazione Produttori del Nizza DOCG. This is a new denomination of a Super Barbera currently composed of 83 producers who jointly promote the Nizza denomination and territory in several countries. 

Some of his hobbies include skiing, hiking, traveling and snorkeling. 

His family consists of his wife Laura and their children Matteo, born in 2003 and currently in his first year of Viticulture and Enology, and Michela, born in 2008 and presently attending her first year of high school.
