Bodegas Familia Chavarri started in 1882 and has the oldest bottle register number in Rioja Alavesa Spain. Javier Bayona a structure engineer changed the course of his life when he met and married María Chávarri one of the two daughters that composes the fourth generation of this winery. Since then He became part of the family enjoying great wines and transmitting the experiences and history of the family. Since its origin, the Chávarri family has been linked to the land and wine. Four generations of winegrowers loving and respecting the land of their ancestors.
Our current commitment starts from the bases created by the founder Francisco Chávarri; Entrepreneurial man of the time and with great business vision. This led him to establish himself as a winemaker, acquiring the first Rioja Alavesa Bottling Registry number. That concern for the world of wine has been instilled in each new generation and today, we want to maintain that determined and inspiring spirit for future generations.
