A New Zealand native, Haydn began his winemaking career in 1996 at Gibbston Valley Winery in Queenstown, NZ.

His winery and harvest work continued in the Okanagan region of British Columbia, Forrestville, California, and finally Walla Walla, Washington where he joined Seven Hills as associate winemaker in 2002.

In 2014, Haydn joined E&J Gallo in California overseeing select varietals and vintages across the Dark Horse brand.

In 2018, he returned to Walla Walla to take the winemaking helm at Canoe Ridge Vineyard. With more than 25 years of winemaking experience, Haydn honors the Old-World Style for which Canoe Ridge Vineyards is beloved. Elegant and age-worthy, the wines are made with structure and softness to pair with a wide variety of cuisines.
