Giacomo Boscaini is one of the seventh generation of the family-owned winery Masi Agricola, a wine company with roots in Valpolicella Classica which has produced quality Venetian wines since 1772 and is today a leading producer of Amarone.
He shares a love for the Venetian lands and its wines with his uncle Sandro Boscaini, the founder and company President, and his father Bruno, who is in charge of production.
After taking his degree in Marketing and Business Organisation at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, he lived in London and took a job at the company’s UK importer, Berkmann Wine Cellars.
He qualified as a sommelier and passed the second level of the course at the prestigious British “Wine and Spirit Educational Trust”. He also took part in many different masterclasses on the world’s wines. He is now studying for the Master Sommelier ALMA-AIS qualification at the ALMA school of international cuisine in Parma.
In 2013, he began work in the commercial department of Masi looking after relations with countries from the ex-Soviet Union and representing the family’s winery at commercial and institutional events in Italy and abroad.
A keen chess player, Giacomo likes pondering his next move over a good glass of Recioto.
