Cline Family Cellars
Charlie Tsegeletos was raised in Northern California in a household where his Italian mom and Greek dad always had a bottle of wine on the table.
He earned his degree in Agricultural Science and Management from the University of California at Davis and has been a winemaker since 1980. His career started with an apprenticeship at the tiny San Jose based Pendleton Winery until he was appointed Assistant Winemaker at Hacienda Wine Cellars. He held winemaking positions at D’Agostini Winery and then became Senior Director of Winemaking for Glen Ellen Winery. Charlie joined Cline in 2002 and manages the winemaking and production programs for Cline Family Cellars, Farmhouse Wines, Cashmere Wines and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.
Charlie’s personal philosophy is to work closely with vineyard managers and growers to ensure that maximum flavor concentration is achieved. He then tailors winemaking to capture that concentration and put it in the bottle.
He is a professional wine judge, an avid snow skier and motorcyclist and resides on an old chicken ranch in the hills of Sonoma with his wife Nancy and an assortment of animals.
