Andrea Lucignani

My name is Andrea Lucignani, born and raised in Livorno, Tuscany. After graduating in classical Studies at the Liceo Classico Niccolini Guerrazzi I studied for a few years, Architecture in Florence.

In 1999 after spending a few days in NYC for vacation and falling in love with it I decided to go back to improve my English and experience properly the city. After 22 years I’m still here, I go back to Italy to visit my family yearly but I’m based in New York City since.

In the City, I worked in a few Italian restaurants as General Manager/Wine Director; to mention a couple, I opened the Soho location for the Aurora Restaurant Group and the Gold street location for the Felice/Sant’Ambroeus Group.

At a certain point a good friend of mine and owner of a niche wine distributing company, Vignaioli Selection, focused on Italian wine, asked me if I was interested in working for him as a wine specialist. I accepted. That is how I discovered the other side of the “game”.

I stayed with him for two years and developed a territory from scratch with great results. To the point that I was offered the position of Italian Wine Specialist at Wilson Daniels. Of course, I took it and after considerably increasing the business I got the attention of the Head of the Italian division of M. Touton, Mr. Enrico Farello who offer me to develop his Italian Portfolio in the Wholesale division where I currently work.
