As the lead Winemaker at O’Neill, Adam Popp is the expert winemaker and face of Harken wine. He practices classic winemaking techniques while driving new company initiatives such as the O’Neill sustainability program and overseeing all harvest activities for our company wines. He is one of the foremost experts in the wine industry on barrel fermentation, barrel aging (understanding oak influence on wine), and Chardonnay.
Adam was born and raised in the shadow of some of California’s most storied Chardonnay vineyards and worked his way up through wineries in the sweeping vistas of Paso Robles. But it’s his love of the barrel that really sets Adam apart. He’s an expert in barrel fermentation and every bottle of Harken is proof that there’s no substitute for his know-how.
