Tom Gannon

Tom Gannon started in the wine business as a bartender. After moving to New York City to continue writing plays, he figured he might be behind the bar awhile and began taking wine classes out of a desire to match his knowledge with the wines he was tasting as the head bartender at Fleur de Sel.  Wine classes through the American Sommelier Association at Windows on the World in 2001 led to his first sommelier job at Rothmann’s Steakhouse in midtown Manhattan in early 2002.  After nine incredible years he left in the summer of 2011 to work for the Spire Collection, luxury portfolio of JFW.  Living in both Nashville and NYC (Sugar Hill) he covers Tennessee as well as NY, NJ, NH and Maine with an emphasis on NYC and Saratoga Springs, (horse racing is the other side of the business for the family he works for and he may have more than a passing interest in the game).   He holds the Advanced Certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers, is a guest sommelier for the Nantucket Wine Festival and occasionally for special events at the private Italian gun club in NYC Tiro a Segno.
